In-Country Representation

We provide local representation services to U.S. colleges & universities depending on however big or small they are.

Regional recruiter, In-country representative, country manager, student recruiter

What is it?

In-country representation is a cost-effective service where a dedicated staff member of Slate acts as your employee, equipped with market intelligence, student recruitment strategy and our professional networking and management experience.

Why is it important?

While Indian students consider U.S. as their top choice for higher education, the political atmosphere and recent policy changes in the U.S. seem to build a fear factor among prospective Indian students. Therefore, we understand there are several U.S. educational institutions competing against each other to attract Indian students as part of international enrolment. It increases the cost and time of a centrally based representative recruiting long distance and commuting multiple times to the region to build and establish your presence in the market.

Therefore, in-country representation is a first step to enter Indian market that will enable you to set up a local operation towards a long-term presence free from governance issues (like legal, HR, tax etc.) to grow your enrolment.

What does it cover?

Student recruitment support through,

  • Maintaining relationship with EducationUSA and U.S. Consular Services at the U.S. Embassy/Consulates at regular intervals for up to date information and student visa trends
  • Participation in education/career fairs, workshops at high schools, colleges/universities and other relevant public forums
  • Managing of existing agents and/or appoint new recruitment agencies in major cities (depending on your objective)
  • Holding regular training sessions with agents and/or information sessions/seminars at educational institutions about the University
  • Hosting open houses, pre-departure orientation sessions for each application cycle in primary and secondary markets
  • Establishing articulation/partnerships with educational institutions especially for twinning program, 2+2 or 3+1 programs, summer programs and research collaborations etc.
  • Publishing weekly/monthly reports of completed and upcoming events, articulation agreements, new agency development, existing agency relations, visa interviews, and outreach efforts

What are the benefits?

With in-country representation, everything becomes cost and time efficient. In-country representation typically cost half as much and is 2 times more effective than distant management from a central office in your institution. In overall, your operational efficiency improves thereby enabling you to increase your yield.
